Has brett favre earned the right to "call the shots" regarding his employment in the nfl?

favre is a recognized "great" in his field... does this fact give him the right to unretire and expect the packers to reinstate him as the starting quarterback? what say should the nfl and the fans have in this matter? how has your impression of favre's image changed lately, if at all?
