Is this guy just after ?

So I met this guy from El Salvador and I knew he liked me from the beginning but he never flirted much or anything like other latin guys i know. But I could still see he was a little shy around me. I see him all the time so after seeing him like the fifth time he asked me if he could get my number. I finally gave him my number and he calls me to talk on the phone all the time. He said he wants to take me out to lunch or something. Now he refers to me as baby sometimes and I am just like whoa there buddy! But anyway I am not looking for a relationship right now but I do like his personality. Do you think he's just trying to get some or does he genuinely like me as a person. I have no intention of getting in the sack with him. So if that's what he's after I'd rather all th phone calls stop now but I don't want to judge him too early. What do you think?
