Why is there a Statue of Gunnar Wennerberg at the Minnehaha Falls Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota?

Gunnar Wennerberg was a socialite and politician in Sweden and from my reserch never came to Minnesota. He did influence the A Cappella singing in Minnesota Universities and schools around the country.
