11 year old Hockey player?

I have an 11 year old that is playing hockey for the first time. He is a great skater and learning very well on stick and puck handling. One thing is slow on is being aggressive on the ice. I think he is nervous from being around kids that have been playing for a while now. I think he has it in him to be more aggressive, and I don’t want to push him to the point where he is unsure about himself on the ice. Any suggestions I may suggest to him? Or will this just take time? Just learning the game is hard enough, and he truly loves playing and can’t get enough of it. I would love to hear from other players, coaches, parents that might have dealt with this with other 11 year olds just starting.
