Does the story of Joseph & his brothers illustrate the risks of over-large religious families?
No, the story is not about what happens in a large family. The story is about God using Joseph to do what he had planned in egypt. After Joseph was grown and living in egypt, eventually there was a famine. Joseph being in such a high position was able to save his family and the israelites from the food drought. From there they grew and became slaves for the egyptians , and God used that to allow them to go into , but he raised up Moses to eventually lead the israelites through the red sea. The red sea is a picture of God's elect going through hell. So, all of this happened because God almighty had a great, wonderful plan he was going to carry out. And he did it his way.
