Which of these laptops is the best?

The Toshiba is best. The HP pavilion can cause you problems because of the Windows Vista 64-Bit. Most vista based products are based on the traditional 32-bit system. Toshiba's are pretty reliable, and they both have the same amount of memory. So you get the same stuff for a cheaper price!
