The US Army has over one hundred and fifty different jobs, most of which are not combat related. You wanted to be a Dog Handler, why not be a Veterinarian Technician? There are also jobs in Legal Service, Signals (Communication), Electronic Warfare, Finance, Civil and Public Affairs and so on. Do some research.
